Privacy Policy

SHSConnect is the online admission, enrollment and student portal of the Senior High School of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina (PLMar), Panama St., Greenheights Subdivision, Concepcion Uno, Marikina City. PLMar decides why and how the personal information in SHSConnect is processed, and is responsible for it under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules.

When you apply:

• your full name, email address and mobile number;
• your home address and barangay (admission is for Marikina residents);
• your Learner Reference Number (LRN), previous school, strand, grade level and school year;
• the documents you upload after passing the entrance exam: your Form 138 / Report Card, PSA Birth Certificate, Good Moral Character Certificate and ID photos.

During admission: your entrance exam schedule, attendance and score, your eligibility decision, and the status of your application with any remarks from the Registrar's Office.

As a student: your student number and school login, section, subjects, quarter and final grades, general average, honors and promotion, and when you last signed in.

When you use the chatbot: the questions you type and the answers given. If you are signed in, the conversation is linked to your account.

When you use Contact Us: your name, email address, subject and message, and the replies from school staff.

To keep you signed in: a login session cookie. SHSConnect uses no advertising or tracking cookies.

We use your information only to run the school's admission and academic processes:

• to process your application, schedule your entrance exam and decide your eligibility;
• to enroll you, place you in a section and load your subjects;
• to record your grades, decide promotion and honors, and keep your academic record;
• to email you your reference number, exam schedule, application updates and login details;
• to answer your questions through the chatbot and Contact Us;
• to keep the system secure, including a record of what staff change and when.

We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Inside PLMar, only authorized staff such as the Registrar's Office, admissions staff and the teachers handling your grades can see your records, and only what their work needs. You can see your own application and, once enrolled, your own student records.

We use these service providers to run SHSConnect. They process information only on our behalf:

• Supabase stores the database, the uploaded documents and the login accounts;
• Vercel hosts the website;
• Resend delivers the emails SHSConnect sends;
• Google (Gemini) writes the chatbot's answers from the messages you type. Please do not type sensitive personal information, such as your LRN or medical details, into the chatbot.

We share information with government agencies, such as the Department of Education, only when the law requires it.

We keep your information for as long as the school needs it for the purposes above and as required by law and Department of Education records rules.

• All connections to SHSConnect are encrypted (HTTPS).
• Staff accounts can open only the parts of the system their role allows.
• Passwords are handled by the login provider and are never stored in readable form.
• Changes staff make to applications, grades and student records are logged.

Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to:

• be informed about how your information is processed;
• access your information and get a copy of it;
• have wrong or incomplete information corrected;
• object to processing, and ask that your information be blocked or erased when the law allows it;
• get your information in a commonly used electronic format;
• be compensated for damages caused by wrongful processing; and
• file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.

Most applicants are minors. A parent or guardian may exercise these rights on their behalf. To make a request, contact us as shown below.

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. Please read it together with our Terms of Use.
